Pope Leo XIV has "decided to follow the '1988 jurisprudence'" with regard to the episcopal consecrations of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) on 1 July, reports Rorate-Caeli.Blogspot.com on 25 April, referring to anonymous Roman sources. The Vatican has accepted the appeal filed by the Benedictine monks of the Valle de los Caídos against the Spanish government’s planned “re-signification” of the monument, according to Spanish media.
