Polish Nuncio Conferred Confirmation in the Roman Rite

On 2 May, the Apostolic Nuncio to Poland, Antonio Filipazzi, conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Roman rite on 50 young people close to the Institute of the Good Shepherd in Poland.
The ceremony took place at the former Camaldolese church in Bielany, Warsaw.
Afterwards, a Mass was celebrated, with the nuncio assisting from the throne.
The Institute of the Good Shepherd has been working in the Archdiocese of Warsaw for 10 years.
Archbishop Filipazzi is a papal loyalist. He praised Pope Francis in 2025 as an "untiring shepherd of the universal Church" who devoted "all his energy to the Church and to all humanity".

Revealed Letter: Tucho Rebuked Germany - but Let the Process Continue

A newly emerged letter from pro-homosexual Cardinal Tucho Fernández, soft-porn author and Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, has revealed that he warned the German bishops in 2024 against proceeding with their proposed homosexual blessings.
Dated 18 November 2024, the letter was addressed to Bishop Stephan Ackermann of Trier, who is responsible for liturgy. It was published today on X.com by Mexican priest Jorge Enrique Mújica, head of Zenit.org.
In the letter, Tucho states that the German bishops’ proposed guidelines for blessings “effectively legitimise the status of such couples” and therefore contradict his homosexual pamphlet Fiducia Supplicans.
He also criticises the German text for creating what amounts to “a kind of liturgy or para-liturgy” for homosexual blessings.
Specifically, Tucho rejected:
• the treatment of homosexual unions as a status to be publicly recognised,
• the inclusion of ritual elements resembling marriage ceremonies,
• prescribed …Дэлгэрэнгүй

I really think we have to blame St. Boniface. He did a bad job of evangelizing the Germans. They apparently have never been Catholic.

Another day, another stabbing in Barcelona. Today’s attack happened in the busy Plaça Catalunya. An innocent person walking through the square was stabbed and left fighting for their life. Spain is rapidly becoming unrecognizable, but sadly, this is what they voted for.

25 New Million-Dollar Donors: On 2 May, Leo XIV held his first audience with The Papal Foundation, an American Catholic philanthropy group. Since his election, the foundation claims to have added 25 new steward families, each of which has contributed at least $1 million. In the previous two years combined, there were only 13 new donors. Over its 38-year history, the Foundation has donated more than $270 million to papal charitable projects.

Holy Land becomes 'Christian Disneyland' - Jerusalem Abbot

Christians of all denominations now make up less than two per cent of the population of the Holy Land, Benedictine Abbot Nikodemus Schnabel told Aid to the Church in Need on 29 April.
“My concern is that the Holy Land could become a kind of Christian Disneyland,” he said.
He warned that while the holy sites may remain, the region could lose its indigenous Christian communities, leaving places central to Christianity without ordinary Christian family life.
He said that economic hardship was a major driver of emigration and noted that many local Christians depended on tourism, which had struggled since 2019 due to the pandemic and regional conflict.
“People are leaving because they see no future,” he said.

Serbian students begin the day with ‘Our Father’ | Shalom World News
In this humble school in Serbia, the teacher and students start each day reciting the Christian Our Father together. Since the early 2000s, religious instruction has been reintroduced into Serbian public schools as an optional subject, following decades of communist-era secularism. In many schools, particularly in smaller towns and Orthodox Christian communities, the day may begin with prayer, blessings, or religious observances connected to local custom and identity. The recitation of the “Our Father” reflects the deep influence of the Serbian Orthodox Church in national and cultural life.

There is a lot of money behind every war. Gutle Rothschild (wife of Mayer Amschel Rothschild 1753-1849): “If my sons did not want wars, there would be none.” Her husband Mayer Amschel Rothschild: “Give me control of a nation’s money and I care not who makes its laws”. Source.
Millions of people who have died in wars were, for the most part, unaware that they were dying simply so that a handful of banksters could consolidate their power over our world. Today, there are only three countries in the world that do not have a private central bank. They are: Iran, North Korea, and Cuba. Certainly, there are other areas of the world over which the Rothschild clan has no influence, but hardly anyone has heard of them, and therefore they play no role in today’s world.
Both are wearing Turnbull & Asser ties.
If you can pat King Charles on the chest as if he were your towel, then you must be a Rothschild…

Vatican Watchdog: Suspicious Financial Reports Rose In 2025

The Supervisory and Financial Information Authority’s latest annual report, published April 30, detailed 78 reports of suspicious activities in 2025, 73 of which came from the Institute for the Works of Religion, or IOR, the only financial institution under its direct supervision.
Although the watchdog announced last year that it received 79 suspicious activity reports in 2024, the new report revised the 2024 figure downward to 43. It is not unusual for annual compliance reports to make retrospective adjustments of figures.
The supervisory authority, known by its Italian acronym ASIF, attributed the rise in suspicious activity reports in 2025 partly to improved procedures at the IOR, following a “targeted inspection of reporting activities.”
It also cited “activities related to the extraordinary events affecting the Catholic Church and the Holy See in 2025,” possibly linked to the Jubilee Year and papal transition.
ASIF argued that the overall quality of the reports remained high,…

Pope Leo XIII's 130 year-old message for Catholic Education Week 2026

The Archbishop of Toronto Cardinal Frank Leo has issued a message for Catholic Education Week, running May 3-8. In part he writes,
Our publicly funded Catholic education remains a cherished gift in this province, and one we nurture with great care. It is our responsibility to offer an authentic Christian witness and teaching, guiding our youth to discover the personal love of Christ. As pilgrims, we accompany them, fostering their growth in faith and indeed hope, that they may become instruments of God’s transforming grace in the world. This lofty calling requires that we remain steadfast to the Gospel of Life, the truths of our Traditions, and to reject the different cultural and nefarious ideologies that undermines our authentic Catholic identity and life in Christ.
Catholic education in Ontario is a gift. However, it comes with the responsibility to promote and protect the truth, faith and hope found in the Gospel.
Since 2009, both the public and separate school boards have …

As far as I am aware, Catholic education is a right (Constitutional Act 1867 - Section 93) not a gift. This was something agreed upon by hard won 'deal-breaker' negotiations, not bestowed from above. One cannot quibble, however, with the Catholic faith being a 'treasure' which the Church in Canada, and Canadian Catholic parents must safeguard from those who seek to replace that treasure with the 'fool's gold' of this world. I would respectfully encourage Cardinal Leo, his peers, and Canadian Catholic parents to reject timidity in securing that treasure.

Everyday for Life Canada

Pope Leo XIII’s message was sent to Canada but it applies to all Catholic parents in the world: protect and promote Catholic education for your children today and tomorrow.

The earliest Hermits fled, not just from the world but from ecclesiastical office. They refused ordination, just as they (slightly later) refused admission to the monastic state. Their, more or less forced, integration into the ecclesiastical structure was imposed upon them. One can but presume that they were fully aware of their anomalous position within the Eucharistic Community, but chose to live with it. The Communion that they sought did not require physical participation in the Divine Liturgy, or the physical reception of Communion.

Hermits and the Eucharistic Community

An American Roman Catholic website has recently published a very interesting – and, to me, important – discussion on the relationship between Hermits and the Eucharistic Community. Put simply, it considers the question: are Hermits obliged to attend the Divine Liturgy (or Mass, to use the Roman Catholic term) on a weekly, or other regular, basis? That is, to fulfil (again in Roman Catholic terms), their “Sunday obligation to attend Mass every Sunday”?
The posting particularly impresses me because of its approach: it seeks to balance history, spirituality, practicality, Canon Law and theology.
I will quote extensively from the website posting, and then offer some comments of my own.
If you are anything like me, then you must have wondered occasionally, upon reading the tales of St. Benedict spending years alone in an inaccessible cave on Subiaco or St. Daniel Stylites sitting for thirty years atop a pillar, how on earth these hermit-saints fulfilled the Sunday obligation which stipulates …

Acts of the Apostles 14,5-18.
There was an attempt in Iconium by both the Gentiles and the Jews, together with their leaders, to attack and stone Paul and Barnabas.
they realized it and fled to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra and Derbe and to the surrounding countryside,
where they continued to proclaim the good news.
At Lystra there was a crippled man, lame from birth, who had never walked.
He listened to Paul speaking, who looked intently at him, saw that he had the faith to be healed,
and called out in a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet." He jumped up and began to walk about.
When the crowds saw what Paul had done, they cried out in Lycaonian, "The gods have come down to us in human form."
They called Barnabas "Zeus" and Paul "Hermes," because he was the chief speaker.
And the priest of Zeus, whose temple was at the entrance to the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, for he together with the people intended to offer sacrifice.
The apostles Barnabas and Paul tore …Дэлгэрэнгүй
