On 2 May, the Apostolic Nuncio to Poland, Antonio Filipazzi, conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Roman rite on 50 young people close to the Institute of the Good Shepherd in Poland. The ceremony took place at the former Camaldolese church in Bielany, Warsaw. Afterwards, a Mass was celebrated, with the nuncio assisting from the throne. The Institute of the Good Shepherd has been working in the Archdiocese of Warsaw for 10 years. Archbishop Filipazzi is a papal loyalist. He praised Pope Francis in 2025 as an "untiring shepherd of the universal Church" who devoted "all his energy to the Church and to all humanity". #newsRokhnoszqy
A newly emerged letter from pro-homosexual Cardinal Tucho Fernández, soft-porn author and Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, has revealed that he warned the German bishops in 2024 against proceeding with their proposed homosexual blessings. Dated 18 November 2024, the letter was addressed to Bishop Stephan Ackermann of Trier, who is responsible for liturgy. It was published today on X.com by Mexican priest Jorge Enrique Mújica, head of Zenit.org. In the letter, Tucho states that the German bishops’ proposed guidelines for blessings “effectively legitimise the status of such couples” and therefore contradict his homosexual pamphlet Fiducia Supplicans. He also criticises the German text for creating what amounts to “a kind of liturgy or para-liturgy” for homosexual blessings. Specifically, Tucho rejected: • the treatment of homosexual unions as a status to be publicly recognised, • the inclusion of ritual elements resembling marriage ceremonies, • prescribed …Bongata

Acts 14:19-28 Paul and Barnabas were stoned. Afterward, they went to proclaim the Good News: God is Love, God loves us. Turn away from evil and allow God to love you. Finding new disciples allows the mission to continue. John 14:27-31a Jesus said, “You would rejoice that I am going to the Father.” Joy is a recurring theme in this passage. Jesus cherishes joy and peace. The childlike joy within us is a sign that we are close to God. Let us continue to meditate on this childlike joy. To be close to the Father, to be close to God, is the purpose of life. Biblical texts: NAB-RE Normand Thomas.
The agency KNA notes that Leo XIV's thinking was shaped by the ideas and terminology of Latin American liberation theology, referring to an address he delivered on 2 March 2002 in Iquitos, Peru. This text has been published in a book released today, which contains essays, sermons and speeches from the years 2001 to 2013. Key quotes from Fr Robert Prevost: - The reality of unjust poverty and marginalisation is one of the most pressing problems in today's world, not only in the "Third World". - No one can be a Christian today and remain detached from the "cry of the poor" and the struggle for justice. The destitution of millions of people is a true 'sacrament' of sin in the world. - Development is an integral part of evangelisation. Pastoral activity goes beyond what is merely "religious", in accordance with the Church's social teaching and the urgency of the preferential option for the poor.' This must be applied not only to indigenous peoples, who are often the poorest of the poor, but …Bongata
In his book Popes, Dollars, and War, Italian journalist Massimo Franco claims that Leo XIV was elected, in part, to help bring American donors and dollars back to the Vatican. Franco found an anonymous cardinal who said that "the combination of doctrine and dollars won". And: "The American bishops were tired of being criticised [under Francis] and decided to make themselves heard [...] The new incentive is money, first used against Francis and then in the conclave to elect Prevost." During the pre-conclave meetings, Japanese cardinal Tarcisio Kikuchi said: "Are politics involved in the Conclave? No, I don’t think so. But maybe money." Cardinal Reinhard Marx dedicated a full day of the pre-conclave discussion to the Holy See’s finances. Cardinal Müller responded back then, "Enough! We have to elect the successor of Peter, not Judas!" At a book presentation in Rome on 27 April, Cardinal Gerhard Müller rejected the hypothesis that money played a role in Leo XIV’s election with an outright …Bongata

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 14,21-26. Jesus said to his disciples: “Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. Whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.” Judas, not the Iscariot, said to him, "Master, (then) what happened that you will reveal yourself to us and not to the world?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; yet the word you hear is not mine but that of the Father who sent me. I have told you this while I am with you. The Advocate, the holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name--he will teach you everything and remind you of all that (I) told you." angelyelina
[Saint Catherine of Siena /Caterina di Benincasa/; XIV-XV Century AD; Siena, Republic of Siena/Rome, Papal States; aged 33; Spiritual Writer; Mystic; Virgin; Doctor of the Church] The general method by which every rational creature can come out of the sea of the world, and go by the aforesaid holy Bridge. " I will now return to the three steps, which you must climb in order to issue from the river without drowning, and attain to the Living Water, to which you are invited, and to desire My Presence in the midst of you. For in this way, in which you should follow, I am in your midst, reposing, by grace, in your souls. In order to have desire to mount the steps, you must have thirst, because only those who thirst are invited : ' Whosoever thirsteth, let him come to Me and drink." He who has no thirst will not persevere, for either fatigue causes him to stop, or pleasure, and he does not care to carry the vessel with which he may get the water, and neither does he care for the company, and …Bongata
"These two cannot be gathered together in My Name, without three, that is without the congregation of the powers of the soul, the memory, the intellect, and the will ; the memory to retain the remembrance of My benefits and My goodness, the intellect to gaze into the ineffable love, which I have shown thee by means of My only-begotten Son, whom I have placed as the object of the vision of your intellect, so that, in Him, you behold the fire of My charity, and the will to love and desire Me, who am your End."
"So that he who is solitary, that is, who is alone in self-love, is not mentioned by My Truth and is not acceptable to Me. He says then : ' If there be two or three or more gathered together in My name I will be in the midst of them? I said to thee that two were not without three, nor three without two, and so it is. Thou knowest that the commandments of the Law are completely contained in two, and if these two are not observed the Law is not observed. The two commandments are to love Me above everything, and thy neighbour as thyself, which two are the beginning, the middle and the end of the Law."
Christians of all denominations now make up less than two per cent of the population of the Holy Land, Benedictine Abbot Nikodemus Schnabel told Aid to the Church in Need on 29 April. “My concern is that the Holy Land could become a kind of Christian Disneyland,” he said. He warned that while the holy sites may remain, the region could lose its indigenous Christian communities, leaving places central to Christianity without ordinary Christian family life. He said that economic hardship was a major driver of emigration and noted that many local Christians depended on tourism, which had struggled since 2019 due to the pandemic and regional conflict. “People are leaving because they see no future,” he said. #newsPgoaemvkjx

From Newsweek Pope Leo XIV has appointed three new U.S. bishops who have expressed criticism of President Donald Trump's actions. Washington auxiliary bishop Evelio Menjivar has been named as the new bishop for the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston covering West Virginia, according to the Catholic Standard. Father Gary Studniewski and Father Robert Boxie III have also been named as new auxiliary bishops for the Archdiocese of Washington. Menjivar previously criticized the Trump administration's immigration policies, writing in the the National Catholic Reporter last April: "the federal government has pursued a 'shock and awe' campaign of aggressive threats and highly visible operations of questionable legality that go far beyond mere immigration 'enforcement.'" Boxie previously expressed concern over Trump's efforts to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the U.S. "In a lot of ways we have made great progress, but in so many ways, I feel like we're regressing," Boxie …Bongata
Rev. Larry Holland, a 79-year-old Catholic priest recovering from a hip fracture at Vancouver General Hospital in Canada, said he was offered medical assistance in dying twice by hospital staff. This was despite him making it clear that he is a Catholic priest and is morally opposed to euthanasia.
Canadian Doctors Try to Railroad Catholic Priest into 'Assisted Suicide' Over Broken Hip | Frank Bergman, Slay News A Canadian Catholic priest is sounding the alarm after doctors tried to pressure him into “assisted suicide” twice while recovering from a broken hip in a hospital, despite him telling them that euthanasia goes against his beliefs. Father Larry Holland, a 79-year-old priest from the Archdiocese of Vancouver, was horrified that Canadian government-sanctioned doctors attempted to railroad him into being euthanized, despite not being terminally ill. The priest’s alarming story underscores growing concerns that Canada’s state-sanctioned assisted suicide program is spiraling far beyond its original limits. Holland said he was “very shocked” after medical pushed so-called “Medical Assistance in Dying” (MAiD) as an “option” during his recovery from a hip fracture. First of all, I believe that the Novus Ordo Mass is a valid Mass. But also, in my personal opinion, it is insufficient. What do I mean by insufficient? It lacks some of the elements that mark it as our HIGHEST form of worship. Not because it is less elaborate in external elements. Not because it is not in Latin. But because it was stripped down in its prayers. Those prayers and psalms that are embedded into the rubrics themselves, most of them are gone. Now, this isn’t about whether the new Mass is valid or not. I’ve already said it is. That’s not the issue. The point here is that there’s an objective weakening in the new Mass that affects the doctrinal clarity of its sacrificial nature. And honestly, this ties into a bigger problem. Our society right now tends to oversimplify everything. But when you start simplifying the way we worship, it doesn’t just stay there, it starts to shape and weaken how we believe. Now my question is this: why did the reformers do it? If their only reason …Bongata

Leo XIV is set to sign his first encyclical on May 15, according to the German news agency KNA. The working title is Magnifica humanitas. Reports suggest, the encyclical will address expected to address issues including artificial intelligence, peace, the crisis of international law, and other contemporary threats facing humanity. The May 15 date would place Leo XIV’s first encyclical in the tradition of the Church’s great social teachings: • 15 May 1891: Rerum Novarum by Pope Leo XIII - foundational text of modern Catholic social teaching. • 15 May 1931: Quadragesimo anno by Pope Pius XI - developed subsidiarity and social doctrine further. • 15 May 1961: Mater et magistra by Pope John XXIII - focused on labor and economic justice.
