Burn what thou hast worshipped, and worship what thou hast burnt

'When God calls you to penance, he says to you what St. Remigius said to Chlodwig, king of France, when he was to baptise him: "Burn what thou hast worshipped, and worship what thou hast burnt." If we desire the remission of our sins, it is most necessary to love above all things our Lord whom we have despised, and henceforth to despise the hatred, lust, vengeance, pride, etc., in which we have delighted before.'
