Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira An informal lecture, February 6, 1965 (*) At Lourdes, Divine Providence takes two different attitudes towards human suffering. The first is more sensational and thus catches our attention more. It is when Our Lady, as a compassionate mother, heals the sick and lame and thus proves the veracity of the Faith. This, in turn, shows her mercy for wayward souls, by giving them a strong motive to convert. The innumerable pilgrims who are not cured exemplify the other attitude, and beg the questions: “Why would Our Lady cure one and not others?” and “Isn’t this in contradiction to the first attitude?” The answers to these questions demonstrate suffering’s raison d’être and role within the perfection of the Divine plans. Thus, we can learn much more by this second attitude than by the first. To reach a conclusion, we first must recognize that Our Lady demonstrates her goodness at Lourdes. She shows that she can and wants to work miracles for her children. Nevertheless …More
Wide Awake Media @wideawake_media Neil Oliver compares voting to a toy steering wheel given to a child—it provides the illusion of control while the real direction of travel is controlled elsewhere. "The beginning of the solution is just to realise that you're inside a car that you're not driving, and the pedals and wheels—that you're invited to think have any bearing on the direction—are just plastic." "It's humiliating and embarrassing to admit that you've been gulled by a fiction. But once enough people realise it, then effectively the lights in the theatre—to mix the metaphor—come on, and you realise that you're just looking at actors on a stage... and you can see the strings, and the trap doors, and the badly painted sets." "And then you look for the brightly illuminated exits and you walk out the door."

Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke has called on Catholics to defend the sacrament of marriage and the Christian family even at the cost of suffering. Preaching on July 25 at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Wisconsin, the cardinal encouraged married couples to embrace their vocation as a path to holiness. "The grace of Holy Matrimony is not an ideal to which only a few can aspire," he said, "but an objective reality, a supernatural gift, which leads husband and wife to seek each other's eternal salvation along the path of divine love." The cardinal concluded: "Let us be ready for martyrdom, if not the red martyrdom of blood, certainly the white martyrdom of faithful witness to Our Lord in the face of indifference, ridicule, and persecution." Cardinal Burke's appeal comes just two months before the Vatican's October meeting convened by Pope Leo XIV to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Amoris laetitia. In this exhortation, Pope Francis repeatedly uses the language of the "ideal" of marriage …More
I understand @Boanerges Boanerges frustration mr. @giveusthisday we want to see DECISIVE condemnation of the heresies Francis proclaimed and now Leo holds as truth. Cardinal Burke is a good man but not DECISIVE . The truth is, once he does that (being decisive), then he will be cut off from the where the darkness flows and he cant shield his sheeps.

The Devil's Deadliest Weapon Is Distraction The gospel reading emphasizes the importance of being prepared for the Lord’s return. While technology and distractions are not inherently evil, they can lead to a decline in spiritual and intellectual growth if not used in moderation. We must be vigilant and prioritize our spiritual life, resisting the devil’s subtle attempts to lead us astray. Fr. Fr. Winfried Abel condemned the Islamic terror attack on a Berlin ‘pride’ parade but said Christians should view it as a divine ‘call to repentance,’ drawing a rebuke from the local bishop.
The retired Catholic priest Rev. Winfried Abel, 87, of the Diocese of Fulda, Germany, has come under criticism after publishing a letter (article's picture) in a local newspaper criticizing comments made by Berlin Archbishop Heiner Koch about the city's homosexual march. The letter was written in the aftermath of the Islamic terrorist attack in Berlin, in which a man drove a van into participants of the annual homosexual march, killing one woman and injuring dozens. Priest Against "Public Glorification of Perversion" Archbishop Koch had described the homosexual march as "a joyful and moving celebration." Rev. Abel replied: "A Catholic bishop therefore calls the parade of shamelessness and the public glorification of perversion a 'joyful and moving celebration'?" He asked: "Have the shepherds of the Church not been entrusted with the prophetic mission of interpreting such events in the light of the Gospel?" While unequivocally condemning the terrorist attack, Rev. Abel argued that Christians …More

Maxpein @maximumpain333 Seed oils were not originally created for human consumption! They are high in omega-6 fatty acids that accumulate in your body. These fats cause oxidation and inflammation and are deficient in nutrients. When you consume foods that lack nutrients, like seed oils, your body has to pull from nutrient reserves, creating deficiencies. ~ Dr. Eric Berg, DC

Electroverse @Electroversenet 365 years of temperature data from central England, the world's longest running climate record, show no trend. Despite a six-fold rise in population and a surge in CO2, January temperatures have barely shifted since 1600. Likewise for July, the hottest month of the year, temperatures are virtually unchanged. The warmest winters on record happened in the 1700s, the 1800s, and the early 1900s, long before modern emissions. Any warming is slow, natural, with the slight modern uptick likely linked to 1) the urban heat island effect, and 2) earth's gradual recovery from the little ice age. If CO2 really controlled the climate, this chart (see video) would shoot up on the right, but it doesn't...
