Netanyahu Orders Access to Holy Sepulchre After Blocking Cardinal Sparks Global Backlash

Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered Israeli authorities to grant Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa of Jerusal “full and immediate access” to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.
He reversed an earlier decision after Israeli police blocked the Cardinal and few other priests from entering the holy site during Palm Sunday celebrations. The disproportionate restriction triggered strong international criticism from political leaders.
Israel’s President Isaac Herzog personally apologized to the Cardinal following the incident.
The video below shows the empty, silent streets of Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, devoid of the procession, olive and palm branches, and the cheers of the faithful.

The streets are void the article says.
Hmm, no processions, no faithful equals no tourism. No tourism equals no money. Hotels, restaurants, shops, all are empty.

What the Serpent Could Not Tolerate
The serpent did not come to corrupt Adam and Eve. He came to open their eyes.
“Your eyes will be opened,” he promised, “and you will be like gods.” What followed was not enlightenment. It was the birth of the self as a competing center — the sudden awareness of one’s own interiority as something to be consulted, protected, and served. Their eyes opened. And the first thing they saw was that they were naked. The first fruit of the “open eyes” of “self” was shame.
This is the Fall in its precise structure. Before it, Adam and Eve obeyed with what can only be called a blind obedience — not the blindness of ignorance, but the blindness of a will that had not yet learned to regard itself. They moved entirely toward God without the reflexive inward curl that makes fallen men pause, calculate, negotiate, and ultimately substitute their own judgment for His. They were blind to self-will because self-will had not yet entered the world.

The current war in Iran may prevent much greater bloodshed

The current war in Iran may prevent much greater bloodshed
The military action undertaken against Iran, designed to prevent it from developing a nuclear arsenal, is the most significant since World War II.
Indeed, had similar preventive military action been taken against the Nazi regime in the 1930s, it might have saved as many as 50 million lives. If the military attack against Iran succeeds in preventing it from developing a nuclear arsenal, it too may prevent millions of deaths — we will never know how many.
We will only learn the deadly numbers if this attack fails and Iran develops and deploys nuclear weapons.
Preventive military actions are always controversial and often unpopular, because history is blind to the probabilistic future. If prevention succeeds, we never know its benefits. If it fails, we learn its costs the hard way.
Prevention failed in the run-up to the second World War, and we know its horrible costs. Had Great Britain and France engaged in a preventive war and …

"We Made Liturgy a Place of Battle" - Cardinal Sarah

The Church is “nothing without God” and exists to save souls and nourish them through the sacraments, Cardinal Robert Sarah, 80, told CNews on March 27.
When speaking about the Church’s problems, Sarah avoids naming individuals. Throughout the interview, he uses only broad categories - "we," "people," - and shifts the blame onto modern culture and ideas such as relativism, rupture, and innovation.
His consistent rhetorical strategy is to use passive and "we".
The Church: Not an NGO
His basic argument is that the Church cannot be reduced to a humanitarian, political, or sociological institution: "God must truly be placed at the center of our existence, at the center of our life, at the center of our concerns."
And: "If we detach the Church from this mission… the Church is useless."
Liturgy as Battlefield
Cardinal Sarah mentions Leo XIV only briefly and in an almost deferential way when describing the liturgical crisis.
"I understand that the Pope is concerned about this liturgical unity …Suli

Pajareros: their tradition is dying
During the Catholic holiday of Palm Sunday, hundreds of pajareros from across the country flock to Mexico City and decorate 10-foot-tall stacks of cages, adorning them with bright flowers, tinsel and images of the Virgin of Guadalupe, Mexico’s patron saint.

Palm Sunday
The triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, just days after raising Lazarus from the dead, was a significant event. The people, expecting the high priest, instead witnessed Jesus, the true High Priest and Lamb of Sacrifice, entering the city. This act, while seemingly unjust, was a profound display of humility, obedience, and charity, ultimately leading to Jesus’ crucifixion for the salvation of humanity.

Berlin Court Jails 4 Men in Landmark Hamas Weapons Case, First German Ruling Treating Membership as Terror Offense – Allah's Willing Executioners

Illustration
Four men were sentenced to prison in Berlin on Wednesday for operating a covert
Hamas weapons-stockpiling network across Europe in preparation for potential terrorist attacks — a landmark ruling marking the first time a German court convicted members of the Palestinian terrorist group under the country’s terrorism laws.
The Berlin State Protection Senate — a special national-security chamber within the Berlin Court of Appeal — convicted the defendants of stockpiling weapons for future attacks in Europe, including possible targets in Germany, sentencing them to four and a half to six years in prison for membership in a foreign terrorist organization and related charges.
The court determined the men, aged 36 to 58, had acted as foreign operatives for Hamas’s military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, and had already helped establish several firearms caches across Europe.
According to official records, the defendants helped build weapons depots as part of “preparations to carry …

Leo XIV Promotes Francis-Era Diplomats in Vatican Shake-Up

Pope Leo XIV has carried out a reshuffle at the Roman Curia, confirming weeks of leaks and speculation in the Italian media.
He has reappointed careerists to different posts, but has once again failed to appoint a distinct Catholic.
At the centre of the changes is Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra, who is leaving his influential role as Substitute for General Affairs — effectively the 'No. 2' in the Secretariat of State. He has been accused of being homosexual. Leo XIV has appointed him as Apostolic Nuncio to Italy and San Marino.
This places him in one of the Holy See's most sensitive diplomatic roles, given the unique relationship between Italy and the Vatican.
Monsignor Paolo Rudelli succeeded him as Sostituto. He was the Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe from 2014 to 2019 and most recently served as Nuncio to Colombia.
His appointment also signals continuity in diplomatic appointments at the heart of Vatican governance.
Furthermore, Archbishop Petar Rajić, until now the …Suli

The deep state always wins — no matter who we elect
Do ordinary people really have power? Is this democracy truly real? Or is it just an illusion that the powerful make us believe, to keep us under their control and maintain their privileges? We alternate between different political options but nothing really changes in the end. There seem to be some groups more powerful than those we elect. Let's explore this topic that our official media don't dare to talk about. May God keep you.

Leo XIV Unlikely to Overturn 'Traditionis Custodes' – U.S. Bishop

Bishop Michael Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina, has defended his decisions to restrict the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass to only one location and to prohibit the use any tools for kneeling at Communion.
In an interview with AmericaMagazine.org on 26 March, he began with a thinly veiled dismissal of Catholics attached to the Roman rite: "I don't want to say that they're some sort of lunatic fringe. They're not. These are people who feel strongly about the liturgy, and there's goodness and holiness in that."
Leo XIV Would Not Change what Francis Has Done
Monsignor Martin referred to his responsibility as a bishop to maintain fidelity to the Church’s "norms". He framed his cruel decisions, especially those relating to the Traditional Latin Mass, as an act of obedience: "All I did was implement Traditionis Custodes in the Diocese of Charlotte."
The bishop rejected the idea of extending the existing Masses indefinitely without a clear pastoral plan to end them: "If we need …Suli

Our Lord tells his enemies what happens when Man refuses to praise his Creator.
In this Part, Fr. Coleridge tells us…
How creation itself is ready to praise the Redeemer when man fails to speak.
That divine worship is not a matter of discretion but of cosmic necessity.
Why Christ receives imperfect praise rather than allow silence to dishonour His work.
He shows us that every voice must join in proclaiming redemption, or be judged for silence.
There is so much material that we could share during Holy Week. Rather than trying to provide it all, we will instead focus on how and why Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem provides a key to the whole of his blessed and glorious Passion.
