SSPX OPEN LETTER INCOMPLETE ON VATICAN COUNCIL II

25.06.2026
SSPX OPEN LETTER INCOMPLETE ON VATICAN COUNCIL II
The Society of St.Pius X (SSPX) in its Open Letter, a Profession of Faith has not affirmed Vatican Council II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, interpreted rationally, in harmony with the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus of the Council of Florence 1442 etc. In his Declaration of Faith too, a few weeks back, Fr. Davide Pagliarani affirmed the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus, without clarifying that there were no known exceptions of the baptism of desire and being saved in invincible ignorance, in our human reality in 2026. So confusion persists with this new Open Letter, especially in the section on ‘the Church’.
1. It was reported that Fr. Pagliarani and Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez interpret the Catechism of Pope Pius X irrationally and schismatically. There is no comment on this subject in this Letter. They agree with me.
2. It has also been pointed out that the SSPX interprets LG 16 as …

FSSPX Bishops' Coats of Arms: Lions, Wheat, a Swan, and a Lamb

Today, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X has published the coats of arms and episcopal mottos of the four bishops to be ordained on Wednesday.
Fr Pascal Schreiber's Family Lions
Fr Pascal Schreiber has chosen the motto Virgo Fidelis ("Virgin Most Faithful"), one of the invocations from the Litany of Loreto. Episcopal mottos are usually drawn from the Bible or express the bishop's personal mission.
His coat of arms contains personal references. The two lions are taken from his family's coat of arms. Each holds a golden quill, a canting reference to the surname Schreiber ("scribe"). The colours black, red, and gold are a nod to his German homeland.
Fr Michael Goldade's Twelve Ears of Wheat
Fr Michael Goldade's motto, Adeamus cum fiducia ("Let us go with confidence"), comes from Hebrews 4:16.
The defining feature of his coat of arms is the twelve ears of wheat. Besides symbolizing the Eucharist, they recall North Dakota and Kansas, his places of origin and upbringing, also his …Zambiri

At 97, Cardinal Ernest Simoni Climbs Medjugorje’s Apparition Hill | Shalom World News
On the eve of the 45th anniversary of the first reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Medjugorje, Cardinal Ernest Simoni made a remarkable climb up the rocky Apparition Hill, offering a powerful witness to endurance, prayer, and devotion. Despite his advanced age, the Albanian cardinal climbed the hill to honor Our Lady at the site where, according to the testimony of six young people, the first apparitions were reported on June 24, 1981. The site, known as Podbrdo or Apparition Hill, has since become a major pilgrimage destination for millions of faithful pilgrims. Cardinal Simoni’s journey carries special meaning. Before becoming a cardinal, he suffered greatly under Albania’s communist regime, spending 18 years in prison and in forced labor because of his priesthood and faith. Now, decades later, the elderly cardinal climbed the same path followed by countless pilgrims, turning every step into …Zambiri

Spain's Bishops Appoint Adviser to Socialist Government to Lead Caritas

Worse than Germany: On June 24, the Spanish Bishops' Conference appointed economist Luis Ayala Cañón as the new president of Caritas Spain, the Church's largest charitable organization.
He previously served on the Spanish Government's Advisory Council for Health and Social Services, reports InfoVaticana.com. He was appointed by Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's administration in 2019.
Ayala has also collaborated with left-leaning organizations, including Fundación Alternativas, a think tank widely associated with the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE).
Spain's Socialist government under Sánchez enacted anti-Catholic policies, including legalizing euthanasia, expanding abortion, and advancing gender and homosex legislation.
In its announcement, the Spanish Bishops' Conference made no reference to Ayala's previous government role or political collaborations, highlighting only his academic credentials and expertise in economics and social policy.

Leo XIV’s Chief of Faith "Knows" that All Will Be Saved

In his 1995 article on Romans 9–11, the future Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, Tucho Fernández, wrote that "all will be saved."
His goal is to “relativize the very basis from which questionable doctrines were elaborated,” wherein the "questionable doctrines" is Catholicism as developed from Scripture by St. Augustine, the Fathers, and the Scholastics, notes ElWanderer.com on June 23.
Fernández believes that Augustine's teaching "requires a revision" and later claims that Augustine's doctrine "did not offer a complete and harmonious vision of God, man and Christian experience."
"I know God's concrete plans"
Tucho's most extraordinary claim is: "I firmly trust that all will be saved; a trust based not on a desire, nor on my compassion for men, but on what I know of God and of His concrete plans thanks to His Revelation."
ElWanderer notes that the Church has never received a revelation that all men will be saved. On the contrary.
The Council of Trent teaches that …Zambiri

Over 1,000 views on scandals. And sometimes as low as only 40 views on Catholic posts. Some of the most beautiful posts are over looked. I only hope everyone who can't get enough of these scandals either takes the time to pray for these Priests when they are done. Or say a Rosary for them. I never saw so many people who rush and seek out all the scandals as I do on gtv. And ignore all the beautiful and Holy "Catholic" posts. As if they don't care at all about them. Remember what you fill yourself with is what you are and will become. There is no need to read such posts. Excuses are, we want to know if they are one of my Priests. Most are no Priests. So unless you go to a no mass, there is no need to check it out. And most of the time the name and picture of the Priest is in our face. So again, no need to read it. So there goes the main excuse I hear all the time.

De Mattei: Any Bishop Could Claim a Right to Consecrate Bishops in a Crisis

Italian historian Roberto de Mattei reflected on the announced episcopal consecrations by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) in an article published on CorrispondenzaRomana.it on June 24.
"State of Necessity" Cannot Be Self-Judged
For De Mattei, the state of necessity argument is simultaneously "the weakest and the strongest argument".
His question is: "Who has the authority to verify the existence of such a state and determine its beginning and end?"
He argues that if the FSSPX can independently determine when a state of necessity exists, then it also implicitly claims the authority to determine when that state ends.
That would place the FSSPX in a position of judging the Holy See rather than being judged by it.
De Mattei acknowledges that Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre was not a speculative theologian or canonist, but a pastor of souls: "The decisive criterion for him was not the assertion of a right proper to the FSSPX, but the spiritual need of the faithful."

Venezuela, on the same day of celebrating a false saint, a thing which the church allowed and perhaps encourage (religious differentism), suffered a gigantic earthquake. Thousands are missing and feared dead, THEY... KNEELED, PRAY AND SACRIFICED TO GOD FOR REGIME CHANGE, and months later worship a false saint brought from África.
EARTHQUAKES IN VENEZUELA, JAPAN, PHILIPPINES AND SOME OTHER PARTS OF INDONESIA (volcano eruptions), yet people still think we aren't at the beginning of the end times. Open your eyes and embrace God’s Mercy in His only beloved Son Jesus, the ONLY way to Almighty Father.
My heart breaks for Venezuela, but their idol worshiping has been epic for many years. Rosaries up!

FSSPX Addresses Rome Again: "One Day Honest Discussion with Holy See"

The superiors of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X published today another Open Letter to Leo XIV and to the Cardinals. The letter is no call to action nor a negotiating proposal but rather another public reaffirmation of the Fraternity's long-standing position. Attached is a 28-page document (English below) with the Catholic faith. This document repeatedly affirms strong papal authority adding that the pope possesses "supreme, full, immediate, and universal jurisdiction". The letter.
Most Holy Father,
Most Reverend Eminences,
On the eve of the Consistory at the end of this month, and just days before the episcopal consecrations scheduled for 1 July in Écône, it seems to us that the time has come for the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X to make a full profession of Catholic Faith, which we wish to place in the hands of Your Holiness and each one of the Cardinals.
Today the Church suffers under the pressure of new forces, coming both from within and without, which push her in …Zambiri

Leo XIV Appoints Indian Bishop: "No Opposition to Yoga"

On June 24, Leo XIV has appointed Rev. Anand David Xalxo, 50, Vicar General and Rector of St. Mary's Cathedral in Ranchi, as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Ranchi, India.
The Archdiocese of Ranchi comprises about 180k Catholics, 35 parishes, more than 300 priests and over 1,000 religious sisters.
Born in Mandar on 20 November 1975, Monsignor Xalxo was ordained a priest in 2006.
Over the past two decades he has served in a variety of pastoral and administrative roles.
On July 5, 2019, Rev. Xalxo spoke with UcaNews.com about the Eastern meditation method yoga. He said that most Catholic schools in the Archdiocese practice yoga daily “to build up positive energy, good health, and mental stability.”
“There is no opposition to yoga in our schools. There are instances of our priests and nuns practicing it and teaching others,” he said.
Cardinal Ratzinger wrote in 1989 that Eastern methods including yoga are "not free from dangers and errors" harmful to Catholic spirituality.

"This washing of the feet was spiritual, and served as a species of absolution. Peter, in his zeal, saw nothing in it but too great an act of abasement on the part of his Master; he knew not that to save him Jesus would the very next day humble himself even to the ignominious death of the cross."

They arose from table, and whilst they were arranging their clothes,
as they usually did before making their solemn prayer, the major-domo came in with two servants to take away the table. Jesus, standing in the midst of his Apostles, spoke to them long, in a most solemn manner. I could not repeat exactly his whole discourse, but I remember he spoke of his kingdom, of his going to his Father, of what he would leave them now that he was about to be taken away, etc. He also gave them some instructions concerning penance, the confession of sin, repentance, and justification.
I felt that these instructions referred to the washing of the feet, and …Zambiri

Cardinal Müller Criticizes German Bishops' Protestant View on Priesthood

On June 25, Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller commented on the Vatican's rejection of the German bishops' proposal to allow lay preaching during the Eucharist. Key excerpts:
- "One must not separate the Liturgy of the Word from the Eucharistic liturgy by having a layperson preach the first part and an ordained priest celebrate the second."
- "Luther already condemned this as an abuse, accusing priests and bishops of no longer being servants of the Word but mere ritualists."
- "The Council of Trent taught that sacramentally ordained priests were instituted by Christ as ministers of both the Word and the Sacraments."
- "One cannot arbitrarily divide priestly ministry and outsource parts of it without effectively denying the sacramental priesthood in a Protestant sense."
- "Ironically, those who most eagerly invoke Vatican II contradict it on the question of lay preaching during Mass."

Nigeria: At Least 20 Killed in Fresh Attack

At least 20 Christians were killed in an overnight attack on the village of Kawel in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, central Nigeria, police said Monday. Among the victims were a doctor and five patients.
Police said heavily armed attackers opened fire on residents before setting homes ablaze.
Security forces responded and exchanged gunfire with the assailants, who fled the area. No arrests have been made. Local officials and witnesses identified the attackers as armed Fulani Muslim herders.
The latest attack is part of a series of deadly assaults that have plagued Plateau State in recent years. Several Christian advocacy organizations have argued that the repeated violence in Nigeria's Middle Belt disproportionately affects Christian communities and have called on the Nigerian government to provide greater protection.

When Did Films Get So Boring

Hello, All!
Haven’t been able to write many Substack essays, because I’ve been spending the time writing for work. While I can’t post the screenplays I’ve finished, I can reprint the SPIN Magazine pieces I’ve done as one of their contributing film editors.
Here is the first one I did for the Fall 2025 issue. (I highly recommend

You’ve noticed. Sequel after sequel, unmemorable plots, films you don’t care about discussing the next day.
Yeah, it didn’t use to be like this.
Filmgoers in the 20th century had a bonanza of new genres or styles of film. Every decade birthed two or more. Film started in the 1910s with a big dose of Charlie Chaplin. Sound entered the picture in the ‘20s, and the films got …

Report: Consistory Agenda Changed Because of FSSPX Consecrations

The proximity of the consistory (Friday and Saturday) to the FSSPX consecrations (Wednesday) has allegedly prompted Leo XIV to remove the liturgy from the consistory's agenda. This information was published by Nico Spuntoni on IlGiornale.it, who cited an anonymous cardinal as his source. Although "synodality" was already discussed in January, it has returned to the agenda.
Spuntoni adds three more pieces of information.
- Notable absences at the consistory due to ill health include conservative Cardinals Joseph Zen (Hong Kong), Péter Erdő (Budapest), and Willem Eijk (Utrecht).
- There is unease among the professed members and religious sisters of the Priestly Fraternity of St Pius X, who do not wish to risk incurring a possible excommunication.
- The consistory's agenda has not generally generated enthusiasm among cardinals. Some also dislike the Synod Secretariat's method of working in small groups.
